Wisdom teeth?

Tuesday I am having my bottom two wisdom teeth out. I am so stressed and I have school pictures on Thursday or Friday. Has anyone else had this dilemma? I need some solace!!

Wisdom teeth?
Canbria is right. You'll have a little swelling, but you'll also have pain medicine. You'll be surprised how quickly those teeth will come out!! And try not to stress. They used novocaine on me so I was awake during the entire deal... and they took all four teeth out at once. I felt no pain, just the pressure of the dentist's hand inside my mouth. Take it very easy for the first 48 hours!!! Really. Mostly I slept because the pain meds made me groggy. And you can always have picture retakes. So, try to relax . I know that's hard, but I promise you... it will not be as horrible like you imagine. They will make certain you can't feel anything. Promise.
Reply:why dont you just change the appointment to saturday

but hurry because most offices will still charge if you dont give 24 hours notice
Reply:I had my wisdom teeth taken out years ago and with an oral surgeon the surgery went quick. I even had novicane instead of being knocked out which was my choice. My face did not swell and I followed their directions which are important for the 1st 24 hours : Do not drink through a straw, smoke or do any sucking actions as you will pull the clots off and get dry socket. Within 2 days I felt pretty good. I think each person heals differently. I heal rather quick. But do follow the instructions because I know someone who did not and they got dry socket and were in agony with swollen cheeks. good luck.
Reply:seriously put off the dental work, discuss it with mom and make up an excuse to delay it a week or so its no matter in the long run. I had my wisdom teeth out in my early 30s. If I didn't have to I'd say I wish I didn't have to. My lower jaw still crunches like I'm eating crunchy cereal. You will still have gauze or dressings in your mouth 2 days later!
Reply:well u know what, its not that bad its a little painful the first day but its made better by gauze bad and pain killers it will not have an effect on how ur teeth look it wll take years for that....just dont stress about it too much k ?

it'll be just fine =]]
Reply:I know when I had my bottom wisdom teeth extracted the swelling made me look like a chipmunk - but then mine were impacted.

All school pictures always have a "retake" day. If you DO have crazy swelling... just skip pictures and have them taken on retake day.

Stock up on soft foods (yogurt, jello, soups %26amp; smoothies). Good luck!
Reply:not to worry. had them removed over the years.

little discomfort but goes away.

you will be fine.

belive me
Reply:If i were you, i would reschedule my appointment with the dentist... most likely you're going to be huge!! When i got mine out i swelled up a lot the next day, and it didn't go down until day 5 or so. Mine weren't impacted. I took care of myself, with the icepacks, drugs, and keeping my head elevated,... everything, and i still looked like buzz light year. If the picture is important to you, i think you should postpone the extraction until you have your picture. Sure, not everyone swells the same, but, why risk it? I thought i wasn't going to swell so much because i was taking very good care... i even developed a bruise on my cheek a couple of days later.

I didn't have pictures to be taken on those days, but it sure wasn't fun going to work with my jaw the size of texas!
