Teeth after braces?

My ortho. said if i dont brush my teeth 2 times a day and good i will have bad stained teeth and the stains will look like boxes on your teeth so i was wondering if anyone could give me a picture of what that looks like.

Teeth after braces?
Failure to keep the teeth perfectly clean and failure to completely remove plaque every day results in decalcification (loss of calcium in the enamel) and staining of the enamel surface. The most common cause of staining associated with orthodontic treatment is failure of the patient to exersize adequate oral hygiene. This staining is often not noticed until after the braces have been removed.

Once the enamel has been affected it is nearly impossible to reverse the condition. In very mild cases the daily use of high potency fluoride gel can reverse the staining to a small degree.

This site has a picture of what could happen if you dont brush right and it also has alot of good FAQ's

Reply:Take your ortho's advice i do not have pictures of this but it does look awful. Braces are so expensive why waste the money your parents are putting into them I would think you would want a great smile someday. I told my daughter that if she did not take care of her teeth after her braces she would owe me five thousand dollars.
Reply:i advice you to not see that picture.i have a freind the same way.i dont feel like going to her.the boxes there will turn black and shine like grey.i have described the picture.so do take proper care of your teeth.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
Reply:He is NOT lying!!! I had star-shaped brackets and they were sooooooooo hard to keep clean so i have 'scars' where you can see the faint outline of where they were!! BRUSH AND BRUSH WELL!!
