Ridges on the front and bottom of my first few front teeth?

I'm 13 and have rides on the front of my first 4 front teeth, and i have them at the bottom- the place that first bite into food.

Why do I have them?

Pictures online of people's teeth don't, neither do my friends I don't think....

And they bother me

D:

Is there anything I can do to get rid of them?

Ridges on the front and bottom of my first few front teeth?
Lol mine are the same way..and i always look at everyone elses and i wonder why mine are like that. ive never asked around or anything..i just live with it. hm, im quite curious myself if anything can be done about it..but i doubt it. what could they do? somehow file your teeth down so the ridges are gone? lol then the teeth would be...smaller, and i assume the mouth would then look funny.

My teeth look like this picture. Are they too crooked for braces?

My teeth look like this picture. Are they too crooked for braces?
Nope. Braces are wonderful! They can do amazing things. Go get an orthodontic consult and discuss the options with your orthodontist. DON'T go to a normal dentist, an orthodontist is a specialist so he'll do the best work. You'll probably have to go with the full works (no invisalign) but it'll be worth it. Plus when they're that crowded it makes cleaning an issue and getting them straight will make your smile beautiful and everything else easier. I work for a dentist and we send a lot of patients with teeth like that to a couple of really good orthodontists and I've seen amazing results!
Reply:Nope. That's actually pretty minor compared to some mouths I've seen.

Go for it. You will never regret it.

Decaying teeth?

Okay, so here is the deal. I brush my teeth, I even use Listerine. But I'm betting because of my constant sugar intake, and the fact that I haven't seen a dentist in 4 years (no insurance, and can't afford it without), my teeth have decided to decay. Here are pictures of several of my teeth. http://i26.tinypic.com/2m5ff2p.jpg What I want to know is, will the dentist be able to fix this (whenever I can finally go) and will it cause problems down the road?

Please no "eww gross" comments please. I already feel depressed and embarrassed about it enough.

Decaying teeth?
well, here are my answers to your questions.

1) yes, by the looks of those photos, your affected teeth should be fixable...but to be 100% sure, your dentist might need to take some x-rays to determine the extend of those decays. If the decay is not very deep, white fillings (composite fillings) will be done, but if the decay is deep root canal might be needed. I suggest you to go asap, don't wait until the decay go so bad that all your dentist could do is either root canal or extraction on those teeth. Coz by then it will become very costly.

2)As far as any problems down the road, I would say not much I could think of if you get it fix by the dentist soon. White fillings if done well could last about 10 years. One thing you got to watch out is if you plan to have your teeth whitened, do it before you have those teeth filled/fixed.

3) This is my personal observation, that I think you might be interested for your futher use. I have notice from your photos that all of your decay areas are near the gum-line. That indicates your toothbrushing technique didn't fully cover those areas well enough, resulting in plaque accumulation. Try to use floss and pay more attention in cleaning those areas when you are brushing your teeth. You can also ask your dental hygenist or dentist to show you how to remove plaque in those areas.

Hope it helps!
Reply:they can fix it if you get to a dentist soon
Reply:that looks painful!!!

i am not sure what it is, maybe a bad cavity? specially because you say you have a constant sugar intake. I am sure the dentist can help, hope everything works out for you! on the plus side, your teeth are nice and white. :)
Reply:i used to have bad teeth too but i finally went to the dentist and they fixed my decaying tooth!!

if you can't afford it, if you live the west coast, go to western dental and they will give you a flexible plan where you can pay monthly. and if you don't, then go to a HMO dentist and ask them if you can make monthly installments.

and with your teeth, they'll probably give you lumineers. they're going to clean your teeth, drill out the decaying part, then fill it up with something. =]
Reply:I would definitely get it fixed and yes, if you don't, it will cause problems down the road. Good luck sweetie. It's worth it to get fixed, do whatever it takes to get the money.
Reply:Yeah, go get started with the work. If you can't cut down on sugar, then rinse your teeth thoroughly with a hot drink like tea (to help clean the crevises) afterward and brush. You have a several thousand dollar gift in your mouth. Start taking care of it to shortstop the problems down the road.
Reply:Ok heres the deal. If you think you dont have the money now to go it is going to cost 1000's of dollars later when it gets so bad you are forced to go. There is this credit card called care credit. Go to carecredit.com for more info. People with even minimal amounts of credit can get some. Most dentists take this card. So try it out and see what happens.
Reply:stop drinking acidic stufff and stop eating so much junk!

stick to healthy foods that are good for your teeth!

brush, floss, and use mouthwash atleast twice a day so the decaying won't get worse!

and when you finally see your dentise i'm sure theyll be able to fix it!

good luck !
Reply:You can't afford not to go. Do you realize that bad teeth affect the health of your body? Some of these decays when they get down to the root can actually kill you if left untreated. There are dentists out there that take payments and others that are willing to work with you overtime. Take care of the bad ones now and then fix the rest overtime.

You really need to see a dentist now before the decay reaches the root and believe me you will now because the pain is so bad you will be willing to yank your own tooth out to ease the pain. It is horrid. I have had 2 absessed teeth before and they are not fun. I lost one because of pregnancy and everytime I would get into the dentist chair I would go into labor and they wouldn't touch me-ha.

So so very important to take care of your teeth. There isn't much they can't do these days.
Reply:Hope this link helps you with all information regarding your teeth.Try out http://useinfo-dentalcare.blogspot.com/ for more details.
Reply:Yes they will be able to fix it.

Try to get to a dentist with whom you can have a payment plan.

Teeth obsessed...how about u?

i have braces and i cant wait till i get them off!!!!!

they are a pain

i brush my teeth every time after i eat.

when i get my braces off i am getting them bleached...

i love teeth and i have a little section on my wall that has pictures of people with beautiful teeth

i would love if u share ure opinion

Teeth obsessed...how about u?
Haha, I do that too! I've had my braces for 3 and a half years (long time because I need a few teeth surgeries) and I'm obsessed with teeth. I love cute teeth and I even have pictures of random smiles on my wall. I cut people's smiles out of magazines (only the smile, not the rest of the face.)

For an extra white smile (like Oprah Winfrey) try this paste: Mix Baking Soda and Hydrogen Peroxide in a little dish and brush with it but DO NOT swallow it. It's made ONLY to whiten teeth, not to clean them. but it really works.

Do that after your braces come off so you get an even color though (:

Some of the glue that holds a wire onto my teeth has chipped off- does this matter?

I use this retainer to keep my teeth in place after braces. I've had this sort of retainer for 8 months and recently a bit of the glue on one of the teeth has chipped away (about half of it.) I have the retainer on my bottom teeth. The wire is still in place but I'm just wondering if my teeth shall still move?

It is just a wire that is attached to the teeth. There's a picture of the kind of retainer I have at http://www.dr-schulte.ch/images/unterkie...

Some of the glue that holds a wire onto my teeth has chipped off- does this matter?
If your fixed retainer is still attached on the two anchored teeth and the metal bar is still intact, you should be fine. To be sure you can have your orthodontist take a look at it. It's not an emergency.
Reply:It sounds like it didn't do any harm, but I would suggest that you call the dentist or orthodontist tomorrow and ask him/her what s/he wants you to do.
Reply:If your wire is still in place, you should be fine. Unless it snapped in half in the center of the front, cuz if that happened, have your ortho see it.
Reply:i think you should call your dentist or whatever in the a.m...just to get his opinion...he may want to re-do it..., or it may have been some extra...
Reply:i see alot of patient with a wire on their lower front teeth , and i reffer them to orthodontist to see if its time to take it out.

now let me ask you this question : do you keep going to your regular visit appointment or do you ignore it. most of the patient who ignore their regular visit time might have some problems i mean even if the cement on the tooth as you said chipped off but will that affect the tooth and what is the reson that it chipped off a decay or trauma . I would say that it won't heart going to your orthodontist and ask about your problem and if you haven't seen an orthodontist you might cosider going for a visit just to make sure that eveything is fine ....
Reply:You need to see your orthodontist and have the "glue" replaced. If it is no longer engaging the wire, it is no longer holding your tooth in place. No, you don't need to go there as an emergency, but you do need to call on Monday and see when you can get it checked out. Sooner rather than later.
Reply:Yeah, I'd go have it checked out, it's not an emergency, but it is important. You don't want to take a risk of allowing your teeth to move, especially since it's such a fresh, new retainer. I'm surprised it came off so soon, mine lasted 9 years, and even then the other side that was still glued had to have the glue pried off.

Braces At The Back of Teeth?

hi, i'm 24 (nearly 25) and wanting braces at the back of my teeth (so they are invisible).

ive just been searching on google and the best way to show my teeth is by this picture:-

http://www.bouldersmiles.com/Pics/GapsBA...

i just bascly want the gap closing up... ive also got 2 crowns on my front teeth (due to accident after beer :/) would i be a suitable canidate for this method?

also would like to hear about NHS prices for this type of work in the UK and how long it would take.

cheers

Braces At The Back of Teeth?
If you only have a central gap as shown in your picture, then it would be quicker, easier, and cheaper to have the crowns replaced with slightly wider ones. You would end up with a stable result too, which would not be so likely with braces.

The downside will be that your teeth wil be wider (as in your picture). A dentist can give you a quick temporary mock-up with composite to help you decide.

Have a consultation with a dentist.
Reply:Crowns are an option depending on the size of your gap, mine wasnt to big, and my dentist advised against as he said if i was looking for a better smile, i wouldnt be happy with top big wide front teeth, he said id look worse. so think about it before you go through it. Report It

Reply:Hi, I've been looking at the same thing. I know exactly what you mean about the braces on the back. If you want a gap closing up train tracks are the right method for this ...however it doesn't come cheaply. I believe that after a certain age you have to pay for orthadontic treatment such as this. I was quoted between £2000 and £10, 000 for total treatment, including all consultations, tooth removal etc. It's not cheap at all! You can also have clear train tracks put on the front of your teeth which may work out cheaper.

The length of time depends on your body really. There is the initial stage with train tracks which in my experience lasts about 2 years then there is a retainer stage of about 6-12 months to ensure that the teeth don't slide back to where they were.

I hope this has helped but I would advise going to your dentist who would know your eligability and put you on to a good orthadontist!
Reply:Hi There

I am 26 and i wear the braces that match the colour of your teeth. I had them about a month and some people that are still seeing me on daily bases didn't notice them. I believe the braces you are talking about are much more uncomortable and I am happy to reccomend the treatment I am having. If you want to talk to people with braces and have suggestions I reccomend this website www.archwired.com
Reply:Hi, Have you ever heard of invisalign Braces, they are clear braces that you can remove. I have a gap in between my two front teeth also, I thought about lingual braces (Behind the Teeth) but this process is supposed to be realy painful and it also affects your speech.

I have invisalign now three months and there is already a big difference, the treathment time is usually shorter that normal braces. no one has ever noticed mine.

http://www.invisalign.com or try the arch wire web site, its really good. The cost was 5500 euros so pretty expensive but worth it as there clear, removeable and theres a shorter time wearing them.

Vampire teeth.!!!?

Ok so i bought a pair of vampire teeth

and i lost the directions to them

like how to put them on your teeth

heres a picture of what model and what kind of teeth they

are.

HELP!

http://www.spirithalloween.com/makeup_te...

Vampire teeth.!!!?
These are basically vanity type teeth. I have seen on TV where some people actually find a dentist to augment or change their teeth to more Vampire type eye teeth.

My recommendations is when wearing these is to not drink any suger type drink and to try not to eat anything. If you drink a sugar drink, the sugar will linger behind them and rot your real teeth resulting in expensive repairs.

If you have boughten these, the website should be able to advice you as to the model and useage of these.

Be warned, vampirism isn't what it used to be. Probably what you've got is a novelty for the tourists. Some people do in deed alter their teeth in a sharp pointy spike but that's perminate and probably costly, and I'm sure you can't go to any dentist to have this down.

Go with V8. It has more vitimins and is probably more tasty and safer than blood.
Reply:Easy to use instructions for five minute application

Mix putty

Center dry teeth in putty

Hold until stable.

Good luck
Reply:If you still have the adhesive they came with, dry your teeth, apply the adhesive then fit to your teeth. If you lost the adhesive you can use polident or something similar. Before attaching hold them to your teeth to find a comfortable fit. Then attach.

Teeth whitening...?

What is the best way to go about whitening my teeth without having it professionally done? I can't really afford that. I've tried some of the strips, but they don't even stay on my teeth long enough for them to work. Plus, they taste horrible the get so slobbery... lol

Any other ideas? Here's some pictures of my teeth...

Teeth whitening...?
I have the same problem with those whitening strips, too! They slide all around and I don't feel like they're working. What's working great for me right now is, believe it or not, a better toothbrush plus whitening toothpaste--not those whitening kits.

I just got one of those Sonicare toothbrushes and I swear my teeth are so much whiter than before I started using it. In my opinion, my money was much better spent on the Sonicare than the whitening strips that I didn't even use. If you're going to get one, though, be sure it's Sonicare and not the $10 Crest or Oral-B electric toothbrushes--those don't work as well.

Hope this helps!
Reply:If they aren't staying on your teeth and you are tasting them a lot then you are not using them properly. Crest white strips are the ones recommended by our dentist and they work well for my daughter. They don't taste great but if they are getting slobbery you are closing your mouth to tightly probably etc.
Reply:I have the best formula. Try 3% Hydrogen Pyroxide ( you can find it in your local pharmacy) and mix it with baking soda. Use something to stir. Pour enough baking soda to make a paste. THen take a cue tip, and apply to teeth try not to put any on your gums. Let stand for about 20 minutes. To increase results use a black light or somethingof that sort. U will get almost immediate results. Trust me.
Reply:There are three ways to get the white teeth you want by using home treatments. When choosing an affordable way to whiten your teeth at home you need to take into consideration how much you want to spend, how much time you have, and your comfort level. Home treatments are much less expensive than choosing a dentist for laser teeth whitening, as dental treatments can run around $600. Here are some options for the over the counter home whitening products:

Press on strips: Press on strips (such as Crest White Strips) are made from very thin plastic and have the bleaching agent on one side. They are affordable and comfortable, and can be worn anywhere, anytime, which is basis of their marketing. They should be worn two times a day for at least 30 minutes, for a period of two weeks. They contain approximately 6% hydrogen peroxide bleaching agent, and are comfortable and convenient.

Paint on whiteners: Paint on whiteners are also affordable, although they can be time consuming, as it takes much longer to paint each individual tooth than it does to apply the adhesive strips. Also, the teeth must be completely dry before use and the bleaching agent tends to wear off quickly. It is best to use this method in the evening, right before bedtime. Paint on whitening agents contain approximately 6% of the bleaching agent as whitening strips and are used for the same length of time, two times a day for about two weeks.

Gel whitening trays: Gel whitening trays contain a much higher percentage of peroxide; almost 10%, but you will need to set aside at least an hour in the privacy of your home to use them. They are the most effective home whitening treatment, but are also the most expensive and time consuming of the three. The trays are shipped as hard plastic, and must be soaked in hot water, and then formed to your own tooth mold. After that, squeeze the gel into the trays and insert them into your mouth. You will need to wear them for approximately 15-20 minutes, and they are uncomfortable and will cause you to drool. If the gel gets on your gums, you will experience the shock of seeing albino white gums when you take out the trays, but this fades after a few minutes.

If you are looking for the quickest results, the gel trays are the way to go. You will simply need to set aside the amount of time you need to achieve the desired results, uninterrupted. While more expensive than paint on or strips, the gel trays cost a lot less than the laser whitening from the dentist. Paint on gel and adhesive strips cost much less and take longer to get the desired results, but are much more comfortable and convenient than the trays. All have been proven safe for use, but you will want to discuss the alternatives with your dentist and make sure that your dental cleaning is up to date and that you have no risk of tooth or gum decay before choosing a product.
Reply:The best thing to do try and save up so you can do the Zoom teeth whitening. I did it last month and my teeth are so white still, plus they give you these whitening trays that in case you think your teeth are getting dull again just put them in and 45 min later they are whiter.

Ortho Never took Molds of my Teeth!!!?

I am an adult %26amp; had braces for almost 2 1/2 years. My ortho never took molds of my teeth in the beginning of my treatment. He only took pictures of my teeth. Now that I have my braces off, my bite is crooked and one of my bottom teeth is further back than it should be. He took molds when I got my braces off to make the retainers. My ortho has been in practice for close to 25 yrs. I am just worried that he didnt take molds in the beginning and that is why my teeth are not perfect now. I dont feel like he really looked at my teeth correctly. For example, I had to get a tooth extracted and when I went to my dentist, he was hesisatant to extract it because the bone structure on the on the tooth was really good. I went back to my ortho and told him my concern, so he said "ok lets extract the other other one on the other side". He wanted to extract 2 teeth all of the sudden by looking at my mouth for a couple of seconds!!! I only extracted the original one cauz I got scared. I need Advice!

Ortho Never took Molds of my Teeth!!!?
Vote #3 for a second opinion~

The fact that he's been in practice for 25 years doesn't mean he has no clue as to what he's doing...

Study models are taken prior to treatment so the dentist/orthodontist can evaluate your teeth/mouth without you sitting in front of him.

Reports should have been sent to your dentist from the orthodontist, stating your progress/outcome.

Tell your dentist your concerns, and see if he agrees with us.

Good Luck!

:)
Reply:I workjed at a dental office for a couple of years, and my mom has worked with orthodontists and dentists for several years. I would say you should definitely get a second opinion....go to another orthodontist (maybe a younger one who is more up-to-date on current procedures) and tell him your concerns. I do think it's odd that an orthodontist never took beginning molds of your teeth......

Extraction, I thought, was used only when there was overcrowding of the teeth.....are your teeth overcrowded? I don't know...I would definitely get a second opinion, esp if it bothers you that badly.
Reply:i would get a second opinion 2
Reply:idk i would go to another orthodontist see what they say and listen to them

and if needed drop the other dude

As you can see in the picture, my teeth are crooket. And my bite isn't very good. And then I also have vamipire teeth, which arent in line with the other teeth. And my lower teeth aren't in line either.

What do you think of my teeth? are they unattractive?

Do you think I should get braces?

What do you think of my teeth?
That is a VERY VERY common mouth. SOOO many people's teeth are like that. It's teeth # 7 %26amp; 10, there isn't enough room for them, so they stick out like that. I've seen in a million times. Braces would definitely fix it, but it's up to you. If you don't have to pay for the braces, get them! You won't be sorry!!
Reply:Very Nice, id like to get my electro meatstick in there

Bad teeth problems...HELP?

I'm a 21 year old female. For about the past 6 or 7 years I've been having really bad problems with my teeth. I've had several root canals, several teeth pulled, and tons of cavaties. Now, before any of you give me answers like brush your teeth more, here's what I do on a daily basis. I brush my teeth in the morning, after I eat something I rinse my mouth with water at least (since you cant brush your teeth all the time), I floss once daily, and I brush my teeth before I go to bed. Why is this happening to me???!!! Is there something that I can try to do?? I've had all sorts of treatments, and have seen all sorts of dentists, none of them know what is wrong with me. Seriously, I'm 21 and my smile is ugly and gross. I want picture perfect teeth, but I definately don't have the money to get veneers or any of that stuff done. Please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks so much...

Bad teeth problems...HELP?
I would ask your dentist these question. It sounds like you're doing all of the right things. As for the cosmetic work, you can finance the work. If you can swing it you may be able to work out payment arrangements with your dentist if you'd like to seriously pursue it.
Reply:are you smoking? that can definatly have something to do with it. That and pop. Stop eating sugar, chewing gum and all that fun stuff. If you're not smoking or eating sugar- it could just be your upbringing. Your parents may not have made you take care of your teeth as you were younger and it just now caught up to you. Good luck :)
Reply:ME TOO!!!!! i am sixteen and have really bad teeth also. and i do brush floss all that good stuff. But what my problem is, is that i have really bad enamel. you can get this toothpaste stuff at your local drugstore, its over the counter but you don't need a prescription, its called STANNOUS FLUORIDE and it helps against sensitive teeth and cavity prevention, i hope this helps, i'm not a dentist but i can definitley feel your pain, and your wanting of a perfect smile :)
Reply:Bad teeth are caused by different factors, bad hygiene, genetics, eating habits etc. It is believed that some decay is caused by the bacterial make-up of one's saliva. I believe they are testing vaccines to help in the fight against decay.

In any case, you may want to ask your dentist to use fluoride treatment to help prevent future problems.

Cosmetically the best you can do is over the counter tooth whiteners. Crest Whitestrips (You want Classic NOT Premium).

Bonding may be a less expensive alternative to veneers.

Good luck!
Reply:It sounds like to me that you probably have periodontal disease. If this is the case, you need to see a Periodontist rather than a dentist. There are some prescription strength toothpastes and mouth washes that your doctor or dentist can prescribe for you. In the mean time, I suggest using either synsodyne or prevident toothpaste. You can buy them over the counter. Also, use an alcohol free mouthwash like Crest Pro-Health three times a day. Cut back on sodas, coffee, and do not smoke. All of these things are the worst for your teeth. Stay away from tooth whiteners until you are fully healed. They weaken your teeth. Seek help quickly though, because an oral disease can spread throughout your body, if left untreated. I hope this helps! :)
Reply:that is a tough one. i've had "soft teeth" too! and it's FRUSTRATING!! the key sometimes is WHAT you eat. there are some things they are very acidic and which wear down the enamel, making it soft, and allowing for decay. Come really bad culprits are pop/soda/colas/coke what ever you call those carbonated beverages where you are from, the regular AND the diet are very acidic (my dentist shared this information). Also, of course sugars (eating candy, desserts, etc.) left on teeth will decay them as well as carbohydrates (breads, etc.). Fruits and fruit juices can also be very acidic. So, when eating those things I would recommend brushing immediately after (I carry a small toothpaste and toothbrush with me everywhere I go). But you may also want to cut down on a lot of those things, because it can also be harmful if you brush your teeth a million times a day (that also wears the enamel). Finally, the last hygenist I saw recommended a flouride rinse at night after I brush and floss to get where those things cant. She said it would slow the decay if it is forming. That way when you see the dentist regularly (which also helps) you can catch things before they become root canals/extractions! I hope that helps!
Reply:It could be genetics too. I have the same thing. My mom, never had a cavity and she's in her 50s. My sibling all can count on one hand how many fillings. But my dad's side has bad teeth. Guess I got it from them. =) Keeping up with cleanings are essential. Ask your dentist or hygienist how to brush or floss. I know it sounds silly but I found out that I was brushing too hard and not flossing correclty. Also, ask which toothbrushes, floss, toothpaste they recommend. Mines liked Sonicare. It's pricey but it's very effective in reaching in the back. They sell an battery operated one too that costs $29.99, Sonicare Extreme. When flossing, curve to your tooth and do a "c" shape at the gumline. I also use Act anticavity mouthwash. I try to consume vitamin C and dairy daily because they're good for teeth and bones. There's also veneners, braces or bonding that can improve the way teeth look. It can be expensive but doing a few at a time can help. I've kept up with what they recommend and the last check-up, I had only 2 filling done! The least ever!! =) Good luck!

holy crap, her mouth needs to be sand blasted!!
Reply:that's pretty scary, give her some tartar control cat treats
Reply:She is going to have to go to the Dentist it looks like her teeth are already rotting
Reply:your sister is nasty
Reply:eww but why would you post your sis pic up on here thats mean
Reply:Thats gross....i brush my teeth at least 3 times a day...eeewwww
Reply:wow so she seriously just posed for the camera... we'll yes i think so.... scratch that i know so.....
Reply:yes! brush those things!

they're starting to rot.
Reply:ewww that is just nasty! her teeth are worse then my GRANDMAS!!!!!
Reply:YAH, she needs to brush her teeth for pete sake. *BARFS*
Reply:Wow um... maybe brush her teeth a couple of times a day once in the morning and once at night every night. Oh and she needs to go to a dentist or she wont have any teeth.
Reply:It's not what she "thinks" about boys, it's what do boys "think" of her. No boy in his right mine, will want to kiss her.
Reply:your sister needs to brush her grill, that's just wrong....... tell her to go to the dollar store and get a tooth brush and tooth paste. she's too young to look like that.
Reply:I think the damage has already been done. She let it go for too long. They will need to be pulled
Reply:Thats nasty as f*ck she needs to brush those things and i dont think it matters what she thinks about boys they wont get close to her
Reply:Leave her alone%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;!!!
Reply:OMG!!! That is so gross! brush them now!
Reply:Yes. She needs to brush her teeth. A little floss and some bleach wouldn't hurt either.
Reply:If she doesnt want to listen to you, fine. Let her be a fifteen year old that has to gum applesauce for the rest of her life. There is no excuse for that unless she is mentally retarded and needs someone to assist and remind her to do that daily. (And I'm not being funny, I'm serious.) When she wants to start dating and guys tell her to scram, she'll get the picture. And there are dentist who let you pay installments or are based on income. If worst comes to worse, get your teeth done and just let them put the unpaid bill on your credit. Geez. She's only 14 so the creditors cant do anything and by time she's 21 it will have fallen off her credit!
Reply:yeah her teeth are starting to rot. i bet her breath smells REALLY REALLY BAD!

i know this gurl i work with and she has ONE rotten tooth all the way in the back...and her breath is kicking! so i wont be suprised if you have to hold your nose when you talk to her.

i dont think brushing will help all the way...she really needs to go to the dentist. that wont be attractive to anybody. i bet it will be hard for her getting a job and getting a boyfriend. uck!
Reply:I don't understand how she doesn't brush her teeth. The only explanation I can think of as to why she doesn't brush is that her teeth are so decayed brushing is painful. The pictures were really disturbing. I could understand her not brushing if she were a five year but at 14 years old that is just horrible personal hygiene. Also you say she doesn't want to go to the dentist because it is too expensive but how is a 14 year old supposed to find money for a dentist. Help her out.
Reply:If this is true, then your sister is really stupid. You said she won't go to the dentist because it costs too much? That should not be an issue for her at 14 years old, your parents should be taking care of the cost of the dentist. And if your parents won't take her because of the cost even in the state her teeth are in, then they're pretty irresponsible as well. This could spread way beyond her teeth - it could cause so many diseases and everything else.
Reply:I think all hope is lost for her. Her breath probably smells like rotten as$
Reply:yeh she sooo should...its very scary and before she knoes it she wont have any teeth.
Reply:I think it's a little too late. just brushing her teeth may not reverse all of the damage thats already been done. Im afraid it's already rotten and can only be fixed by being pulled out. well, it's her choice. honestly, a one time trip to the dentist won't do much good. yes, youre right, the dentist costs alot. That's why she should be brushing her teeth everyday. Even twice or three times a day. I brush my teeth obsessively and still get cavities. she should be more careful. it's not just the money, its the teeth that she probably wants. having no teeth by age 16 wouldn't be very fun for her, although it may be fun for others to make fun of her. lol. and yes, very gross. By the way, I don't think it's really nice of you to post a picture of someone else on the web. Especially if it's your sister.

GET HER TO THE DENTIST BEFORE SHE NEEDS DENTURES ALTHOUGH SHE PROBABLY ALREADY DOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:Unless you guys wrote on her teeth just to make a joke here, it looks like her gums are red and infected.

She is PAST needing to just brush her teeth.

She needs to get to a dentist and placed on penicillin. The infection from her teeth could get into her blood stream and make her EXTREMELY sick and she could even die from it.

I really hope this is just a joke.

14 year olds should have more self-respect and discipline.
Reply:WOW!!! i think she looks great! for a goat!
Reply:She has a sad problem and it is nice of you to ty to help. Why hasn't her Mother or Father insisted she brush? I think she needs help right away. I feel bad for her and hope she can get help. There are programs for financial assistance so she can go to a dentist if money is a problem. I think you parents need to help her out.
Reply:OMG!!!!!!

her mouth is bleeding.

dude. tell her to whiten her teeth or somthing.

isnt she embarresed

Does my teeth need orthodontics?(picture included)?
yes i think you should go for orthodontic treatment as your front teeth seems to be tilted and there is space inbetween which may lead to crowding in the back of your mouth and cause malocclusions like crossbites and it will look unaesthetic with spacing in front teeth you can get them veneered but veneering wont solve the problem completly as it wont be helping out in treating posterior crowding so better option would be an orthodontic treatment.
Reply:Why would you spend your money, what are they gonna do. Chill out, your teeth are fine. Trust me.
Reply:If its free then u could get it done and u prob wont have them in for that long as your teeth are pretty straight.
Reply:From the pic, I would say it's up to you but I don't think it would be necessary. What does your dentist say?
Reply:I would say yes, because your mouth kind of looks like it's overcrowded......same thing with my teeth.
Reply:well it seems like ur front two teeth are a little seperate.

n maybe u either have an overbite or underbite.

yes, i reccomend braces, but u prolly wont need them for long.

ur teeth are pretty straight already, they just need to be alligned a bit.

good luck!
Reply:I would just have the gap in your upper front teeth bonded.
Reply:I would reccomend veneers, or invisalign. Since your teeth aren't that bad to begin with. I would talk to the dentist and see what would be a better for you.
Reply:Don't bother. They look fine.
Reply:Your teeth don't look that bad. I would say just go to the orth and see what they say. My teeth looked like that on the bottom (the way your top does) and now they are perfect (preatty much). The thing that did the trick was a lower langual arch, you can probably get a top one too. All it does is when you loose a couple teeth your baby ones are most of the time bigger (molars) the lower thingy will hold back your molars and let the front teeht space out then get straight. Then I would recommend a retainer, so your teeth stay that way!
Reply:no, there pretty fine.

that would be cosmetic instead of a need

by the way its do they need orthodontics not does them need orthodontics
Reply:I would say no, don't bother. I think your teeth look good, and the gap gives them/you character. I once saw an advertisement poster in a Gap window with a BEAUTIFUL girl sporting a gap between her teeth (although I'm sure there was no pun intended.) Relax. When your teeth are straight, as they pretty much are now, why would you want to look like everyone else?
Reply:I think your money would be better invested in Hooked on Phonics. But that's just me.
Reply:they look ok to me but if you re so wanting it to be gone, any dentist can make them look even,, they have this machine ,and the procedure is not at all painful, also completely inexpensive.takes couple of minutes only
Reply:Just because your teeth are straight doesn't mean you don't need orthodontic treatment. It's all about the relationship between the placement of the teeth relative to each other and to the jaw, known as "occlusion", or "bite". Your occlusion DOES need to be corrected, as you show what is commonly known as an an underbite.
